The reasons why Ultra durable plasma cutting machines cannot arc may involve multiple aspects. Here are some common reasons and solutions:


1Input air pressure issue

(1) Excessive input air pressure: If the input air pressure is greater than 0.45MPa, it may blow away the concentrated arc column, causing the energy of the arc column to disperse, thereby weakening the cutting strength of the plasma arc. This is usually caused by improper adjustment of the air compressor or excessive adjustment of the air filter pressure reducing valve.

(2) Low input air pressure: If the input air pressure is much lower than the required air pressure of the device, the spraying speed of the plasma arc will weaken, making it impossible to form a high-energy, high-speed plasma arc, resulting in poor cutting quality, incomplete cutting, slag accumulation and other problems. This may be caused by insufficient air input from the air compressor, low pressure regulation of the air conditioning valve, or blockage in the solenoid valve.

2Poor contact of ground wire

Grounding is an essential preparation for the operation of plasma cutting machines. If specialized grounding tools are not used, insulation is present on the surface of the workpiece, or the ground wire is aging, it may lead to poor contact of the ground wire, thereby affecting the formation of plasma arc.

3Cutting nozzle and electrode damage

The cutting nozzle and electrode are key components of a plasma cutting machine. If the cutting nozzle is installed improperly, not tightened, or the water-cooled cutting torch is not connected to the cooling system, it may increase the wear and tear of the cutting nozzle. After the cutting nozzle or electrode is damaged, the plasma cutting machine may not arc.

4Power issue

(1) Unstable or insufficient voltage: Plasma power supplies usually require the connection of three-phase 380V voltage. If the voltage is missing or insufficient, it will affect the formation of plasma arc.

(2) The power indicator light is not on: it may be caused by damage to the indicator light, blown fuse, or failure to input three-phase 380V voltage.

5Other factors

(1) The spark generator cannot automatically cut off the arc: this may cause the plasma arc to not form continuously and stably.

(2) Damage to internal components of the cutting torch, such as the torch switch or control board, may cause the plasma cutting machine to malfunction.

(3) Moisture in the cutting torch or excessive moisture in the compressed air may affect the formation and stability of the plasma arc.
